Program Coordinator, Events & Communications

This role, within the Corporate Relations-Industrial Liaison Program & MIT Startup Exchange, acts as the operational link between the Communications and Events functions within MIT Corporate Relations. It supports the planning, execution, and follow-up of webinars, conferences, executive briefings, and ILP member events by coordinating event logistics, attendee communications, registration systems, content management, and post-event reporting. Working across multiple teams, this position helps ensure a consistent experience before, during, and after each event while improving processes, documentation, and operational efficiency.

The role reports to the Director of Communications, Events, Research & Operations and collaborates closely with both the Events and Communications teams. The focus areas of responsibility are:
Event Operations, Communications & Content Coordination, Data Management & Reporting, and Process Improvement & Documentation.

Required:

Bachelor's degree; a minimum of two years of experience supporting professional events, conferences, webinars, or executive programs; experience with event registration platforms such as Cvent or Eventbrite; strong organizational and project coordination skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience managing data and preparing reports; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail;

customer service and stakeholder support skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams; flexibility to work occasional evenings, early mornings, and weekends during events.

Preferred:
Advanced knowledge of Cvent; experience with Salesforce / CRM systems; experience supporting virtual and hybrid events; familiarity with AI productivity tools for writing, summarization, and workflow automation; experience managing digital content including You Tube or similar platforms; and experience working in higher education, research organizations, or member-based organizations.
