The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital is a beautiful unit with views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. It includes a Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit and a Postpartum Unit that cares for mothers and infants from birth through early postpartum. The 7‑bed labor unit has 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms. The Postpartum Unit contains 12 private rooms with a level 1B continuing‑care nursery.
Responsibilities- Provide ongoing assessment and care of the mother through the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods according to established guidelines.
- Provide assessment and care of the newborn according to established guidelines, including educating parents from antenatal to immediate postpartum.
- Orchestrate and initiate discharge planning and follow‑up care for mother and newborn.
- Participate in labor and delivery unit‑based quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain clinical practice in accordance with AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP established guidelines.
- Successfully complete the labor and delivery unit‑based competency programs as required.
- BSN preferred.
- Current Massachusetts RN Licensure.
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring preferred.
- Current labor and delivery experience required.
