Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse - Mount Auburn Hospital - 36 Hours

Join our team as an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse at Mount Auburn Hospital.

Mount Auburn Hospital, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a community hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School, featuring ten operating rooms staffed Monday through Friday, with evening hours and minimal on-call requirements. Staff work various shifts, including 8, 10, and 12 hours, rotating through multiple specialties such as cardiac, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, plastics, and vascular.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, assess healthcare needs, and develop care plans.
  • Coordinate patient care and supervise assistive personnel to ensure safe, effective, and timely care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members and communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Participate in patient education, including discharge planning and community resources.
  • Maintain mandatory education and participate in quality improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS for specific units.
Physical Environment

Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently. Must be able to stand and move throughout shifts, caring for patients across various age groups.

All staff must be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
