Overview
The Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University (CEPR) is hiring a Research Analyst II to join our team. CEPR is a dynamic, fast-paced research organization committed to improving educational outcomes through the power of research and evidence. CEPR projects use rigorous quantitative methods to answer questions about policy and practice in K-12 and higher education settings.
ResponsibilitiesResearch Analyst IIs work with faculty and senior researchers, independently preparing and analyzing data in Stata or R, guiding junior analysts, developing reusable code, and presenting findings to partners in education agencies.
Qualifications- Have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, education policy, public policy, statistics, social science, computer science, or a related field
- Have at least 3 years of related experience that includes complex Stata and/or R programming and independent econometric analysis, up to one year of which may be related coursework or experience gained as a student
- Are proficient in using Stata to manage, prepare, and analyze data
- Have strong attention to detail
- Enjoy analytic problem-solving
- Work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Are motivated to produce quality, actionable research and evidence to strengthen students’ educational outcomes
- Are dedicated to continual learning and skill development
- Can work from our Cambridge , MA office 3 days a week
- Basic Qualifications - Bachelor s degree in public policy, economics, statistics, computer science, education policy, social science, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of related experience that includes complex Stata and/or R programming and independent econometric analysis, up to one year of which may be related coursework or experience gained as a student
- Stata programming skills required
- Additional Qualifications and Skills - Master s degree in one of the fields listed above preferred
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods and quantitative research design. Experience with randomized control trials, difference-in-difference, regression discontinuity, or propensity score matching designs a plus
- Experience working with data of varying quality and from varied source systems
- Demonstrated data preparation and cleaning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to work under pressure, accurately assess problems, and develop solutions
- K-12 sector or university research experience
- Stan or Python programming a plus
Salary: $75,000-$80,000. Posting
