We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate / Scientist with strong hands-on experience in oncology-focused molecular and cellular biology. This role will support target validation and functional genomics studies through gene perturbation approaches and advanced in vitro assay systems. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated expertise in genome editing, cell-based assays, and molecular analysis techniques within an academic or industry oncology research setting.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and manipulate 2D and 3D cell cultures
, including spheroids and organoids. - Perform target gene perturbation using CRISPR/Cas9, Cas
12, shRNA, and siRNA technologies. - Conduct lentiviral-based gene transfer and nucleofection-based genome editing.
- Design and execute cell viability and cytotoxicity assays using platforms such as Incu Cyte, Cell Titer-Glo, CyQUANT, and clonogenic assays.
- Perform molecular analyses including RT-qPCR
, western blotting, and sample preparation for RNA-seq. - Troubleshoot experimental protocols and optimize assay conditions to ensure reproducibility and data integrity.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, preparing clear documentation and reports for internal review.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with biology, translational research, and bioinformatics teams to advance oncology research programs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
. - Demonstrated hands-on experience conducting oncology research in academic or industry settings.
- Proven experience with:
- Maintenance and manipulation of 2D cell lines
- CRISPR/Cas9 or Cas
12 genome editing - shRNA/siRNA-based gene knockdown
- Cell viability and cytotoxicity assays (Incu Cyte, clonogenic assays, etc.)
- RT-qPCR and western blot techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and optimize experimental workflows.
- Experience with 3D culture systems
, including spheroids and organoids. - Experience preparing samples for RNA-seq analysis
. - Familiarity with additional genome editing or functional genomics platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.
