We take advantage of cutting-edge AI/ML to build the world’s most information-rich maps of neuronal function to drive our drug discovery programs. We are seeing a Research Associate to join our expanding therapeutics team.
This position is based in Cambridge, MA, with the expectation of on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute preclinical in vivo pharmacology studies in rodents
- Perform routine and advanced procedures, including animal handling and restraint, test article administration (e.g., intrathecal), tissue collection, and necropsy, in accordance with IACUC guidelines and internal protocols
- Accurately document study data and observations in compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Rigorously follow protocols and contribute to protocol refinement when needed
- Follow SOPs and work independently in a high-throughput environment
- Maintain accurate, well-organized data entry and analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic research environment
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent data organization and record keeping
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience executing in vivo pharmacology experiments (biotech/pharma industry experience preferred)
- Demonstrated hands‑on expertise in vivo techniques, including behavioral assessments, anesthesia, surgery - including intrathecal injections and tissue harvesting is a mandatory requirement
- Experience handling rats and performing intrathecal procedures is strongly preferred
- Self‑motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision while multitasking effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Collaborative, curious, and flexible with strong problem‑solving skills
- Experience with cell culture is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to the humane and ethical care of laboratory animals
- Ability to work independently and in cross‑disciplinary teams.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
