Position Summary:
Working in R&D departments, and collaborating closely with other members across departments, including Operations, Hardware and Software, the Junior Scientist will help with Omic sample processing, provide software and hardware support and help with the management of lab and logistics. The successful candidates will have a demonstrable background in related fields, enthusiasm, and effective communication skills within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, dynamic company.
Responsibilities:
- Process biological specimens for MERFISH projects.
- Support hardware and software R&D through wetlab experiments.
- Participate in any projects and assignments as needed.
- Manage the lab and logistics at the Cambridge office.
- Analyze, report and track the use of products and reagents.
- Carefully document procedures and help maintain good laboratory practices.
- Follow all safety precautions for chemicals and reagents while working in the lab and complying with OSHA and BSL2 safety standards.
Requirements and
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering or related biological sciences or recent completion of a Lab Certificate program.
- Minimal 1 year wet lab experience in molecular biology.
- At least 1 year of industry experience is preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Strong ability to communicate work clearly and effectively within the team is highly preferred.
- A high level of commitment and a track record of quality work, with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology and imaging techniques (e.g. fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, fluorescent microscopy, single-molecule imaging, flow cytometry, cell culture, tissue sectioning, NGS library construction, RNA-seq, cell transfection, antibody-labeling, etc.) is a plus.
