Research on Theory-of-Mind, Pragmatics, and 'Scripted' Behavior
OverviewApplications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship under the direction of Professor Tomer Ullman in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University. The position is expected to start in Summer or Fall 2025.
Responsibilities- Research on common‑sense reasoning, theory‑of‑mind and pragmatics, with a focus on reasoning about 'scripted' behaviors in other people.
- Train and supervise research assistants.
- Design experiments, collect and analyze data.
- Prepare manuscripts and grant proposals.
- Collaborate with the Harvard research lab and related labs.
- Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Developmental, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience and training in empirical research, including experiment design, data collection and analysis.
- Organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Background in computational methods and/or statistical methods is a plus.
- Availability for at least one year; 2‑year availability is preferred.
The fellowship is one year with the possibility for renewal for up to 2 subsequent years. The annual salary is $67,600, which includes health insurance and other benefits, and funding for conference travel.
