REQUIRED:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Theory, or a closely related field; a minimum of two years of relevant experience; experience with AI, optimization, and data analysis; excellent leadership and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to keep projects and deliverables on track and to evaluate and revise plans and methods as needed; strong supervisory experience, including mentoring or supervising students and research staff;
excellent interpersonal, relationship‑management, and client‑service skills that promote collaboration and cooperation; the ability to work effectively with a wide diversity of faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders; a high level of independent decision‑making and judgment; the ability to handle confidential information with discretion; proven written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to give oral presentations and prepare scientific papers;
and the flexibility to attend evening or weekend meetings and events, as well as travel domestically, and potentially internationally, up to 10% as needed.
This position is onsite, with the possibility of limited hybrid work as agreed upon with the lab's Principal Investigator.

RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, to join the Future Tech Group to conduct research assessing the pace of progress in AI and how it maps to economic outcomes such as job automation. This role will serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary team that includes economists and computer scientists. Responsibilities include planning, conducting, and implementing research tasks and projects that require independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and substantially modifying standard techniques.
The Research Scientist will develop new approaches to understanding the pace of AI progress and its economic implications and will be expected to conduct and publish original research.
