Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative candidate for the role of Senior Associate Scientist of Lipid Nanoparticle (LNP) formulations within the Formulation Sciences team. The candidate must be independent, goal oriented, technically competent, and able to efficiently work across multiple projects. The successful candidate will have scientific background in LNP formulations, as well as drug delivery systems and analytical techniques.
They should be an independent problem-solver, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced entrepreneurial environment.
This position is onsite and will be primarily located at 675 W Kendall St, Cambridge, MA 02142.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct LNP formulation optimization and characterization
- Support in vitro/in vivo studies by producing LNPs encapsulating siRNAs and/or mRNAs
- Generate analytical data to understand physicochemical parameters of LNPs across various payloads and to support projects in research/development
- Support novel method development of LNP characterization and LNP delivery
- Support the development and characterization of formulations across diverse therapeutic modalities (e.g., antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates and other emerging modalities) within the Formulation Sciences team.
- Design, plan and perform scientific experiments and contribute to project related scientific activities with some guidance from team members
- Analyze, summarize experimental data, and present scientific findings in the cross‑functional teams
- Maintain electronic lab notebook, SOPs, appropriate documentation for scientific data and experimental protocols
- Work closely with scientists in Medicinal Chemistry, RNAi biology, and early development teams
- BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline with 2-4 years of industry experience with a focus on LNP formulation and delivery systems
- Direct experience in LNP formulation (in‑line mixing and TFF), characterization (DLS, NTA, zeta potential, UV/fluorescence spectroscopy, HPLC, UPLC, ribogreen assay, capillary electrophoresis, gel electrophoresis, etc.), mRNA and siRNA encapsulation, and QC analysis is a must
- Experience in high‑throughput formulation screening will be plus
- Experience in antibody, peptide, or small molecule formulations/analysis and drug delivery systems will be plus
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver conclusive results
- Ability to quickly adapt to new priorities with responsibility in a fast‑paced, dynamic, innovative environment
- Goal oriented, highly organized with significant attention to details while maintaining highest scientific and ethical standards

$80,000.00 - $
The pay range reflects the full‑time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short‑term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long‑term incentive award (e.g., equity).
