REQUIRED:

Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, computer science, physics, applied physics, or a related field; strong background in physiology or clinical medicine; strong research experience in acoustic wave propagation, signal processing, beamforming, computational imaging, ultrasound imaging, or related fields; hands-on experience with ultrasound scanners, research ultrasound platforms, custom transducer design, wearable ultrasound systems, or ultrasound system prototyping;

experience with device fabrication, image processing, acoustic or optical measurement systems, material-property estimation, or medical imaging hardware; experience with electrical and mechanical design and development of ultrasound imaging devices or related medical technologies; programming experience in MATLAB, Python, or related languages; experience with simulation tools such as Field II, k-Wave, or equivalent ultrasound, acoustics, or wave-propagation modeling platforms; ability to understand high-level scientific goals and translate them into concrete computational, experimental, and hardware approaches;

demonstrated ability to work independently, contribute creatively, and collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams; and proven record of scientific productivity, including publications in high-quality journals or conferences; excellent oral and written English communication skills.

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Institute for Medical Eng. and Science (IMES) - The Device Realization Lab, seeks an outstanding postdoctoral associate to conduct device, computational, and experimental research in 3D ultrasound, wearable ultrasound, and photoacoustic imaging for novel in home and clinical use. Will work on key challenges in novel device design, collecting and processing high-quality data using customized sensors, instruments, and experimental platforms.

The work will include device fabrication, developing experimental measurement methods, processing and analyzing data, and creating modeling and analysis approaches that provide insight into tissue-ultrasound interactions and related physical phenomena, applying modem learning techniques to ultrasound and photo acoustics data.
