Position DescriptionThe HIDIVE Lab in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School conducts research at the interface of human and artificial intelligence. We create methods and tools that enable humans and machines to interact with and generate insights from biomedical data, combining state‑of‑the‑art biomedical informatics, data visualization, and AI/ML techniques.
We value diverse viewpoints, creative thinking, and bold initiative in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. The HIDIVE Lab has an international reputation for creating high‑impact data visualization tools and is driven to solve challenging design and engineering problems where biomedical data, humans, and AI meet.
Your RoleAs an Associate, you will contribute one or more of the following skills to HIDIVE Lab projects under the mentorship of senior lab members:
- Research and methods development
- Software engineering, visualization, user interface, or user experience design
- Data collection, management, and analysis
- Academic writing
We participate in large‑scale collaborative projects such as:
- NIH Human Biomolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP)
- NIH Cellular Senescence Network (Sen Net)
- NIH Kidney Precision Medicine Network (KPMP)
- NIH Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE)
- APRA-H Biomedical Data Fabric (BDF)
- Human Cell Atlas (HCA)
- NIH 4D Nucleome Consortium (4DN)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biomedical informatics, computer science, computational biology, data science or a related field.
- Prior research experience (internships, research assistantships) and contributions to scientific projects involving computational work.
Visa sponsorship is addressed at the discretion of Harvard.
Salary Range$60,000 – $67,000
