- MS/PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with a focus on protein discovery/mapping.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python, R, and Perl.
- Strong understanding of molecular biology and structure-function relationships.
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases for sequence analysis, molecular structure prediction, and metabolic pathway analysis (e.g., BLAST, HMMER, Pfam, PDB, KEGG).
- Experience with designing, building, and maintaining SQL databases
- Familiarity with machine learning and data mining techniques applied to biological data is desirable (SSNs, molecule docking and modeling, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary team
- Self motivated and can work independently and in a team environment
- Passion for working in a fast paced startup environment
