AI Policy Lead – Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab. The role supports senior staff to create materials for policy outreach, including publications, evaluation summaries, presentations, grant proposals, policy memos, blogs, social media content, newsletters, and website content, among other sector‑specific work. The candidate will manage a sector‑specific competitive research fund, develop in‑depth knowledge of one of J‑PAl’s sectors, and provide evidence support to policymakers.
They may also support J‑PAl’s overall mission in other ways, including knowledge management, diversity, equity, and inclusion work, serving as a liaison between J‑PAl Global and J‑PAl’s regional offices, or assisting with other J‑PAl projects.
- Create and edit policy outreach materials (publications, evaluation summaries, presentations, grant proposals, policy memos, blogs, social media content, newsletters, website content).
- Support and manage the administration of a sector‑specific, ongoing competitive research fund.
- Develop in‑depth knowledge of one of J‑PAl’s sectors.
- Provide evidence support to policymakers.
- Support J‑PAl’s overall mission in knowledge management, diversity, equity, and inclusion, liaison roles, and other projects.
- Required:
Master’s degree in economics, public policy, or international development, with significant training in economics. Minimum eight years of relevant work experience, including experience in randomized evaluations, economics research, and international development policy. - Preferred:
Training in computer science, machine learning, or related AI topics; experience overseeing research and policy grant funding competitions; experience in technology, product development, and using AI tools.
