AIRNA is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist in Toxicology to help drive the pre-clinical safety strategy for the successful development of oligonucleotide programs across all stages of development. Reporting to the Head of Preclinical Development, this role will provide scientific leadership in toxicology and safety pharmacology across discovery and development project teams. Working cross-functionally, the Senior Scientist will apply deep toxicology expertise to inform decision-making across the drug development value chain.

The individual will serve as Study Director, leading toxicology study operations and coordinating internal and external teams to ensure high-quality, timely execution.

This position is based in Cambridge, MA.

• Study Director for non-GLP /GLP toxicology studies in rodent and non-rodents.
• Managing CRO’s, protocol development and study execution.
• Serve as an SME related to nonclinical safety issues.
• Prepare and review of written safety pharmacology and toxicology reports; and the authoring of the nonclinical document sections for regulatory submissions.

• PhD degree in toxicology, pharmacology or related disciplines with a minimum of 3 yrs of relevant industry experience.
• BS/MS degree and DABT (preferred) with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with non-clinical development programs for antisense oligonucleotides or siRNA.
• Knowledgeable about GLP policies and/or regulatory nonclinical testing requirements for pharmaceutical development.
• In depth familiarity with ICH, FDA and other regulatory guidance and regulations relevant to non-clinical research.
• Experience managing CROs driving GLP/non-GLP studies serving as a Study director.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Initiative in producing high quality work products in a start-up environment.
