Harvard SEAS seeks a postdoctoral scholar to study how natural dyes and pigments influence the color of foods
, focusing on photostability and dispersion challenges. The project combines experimental characterization (spectroscopy, microscopy, light scattering) with modeling of light transport
. The candidate will primarily conduct experiments but may also contribute to computational and analytical modeling. The postdoc will report results to the project’s industrial sponsor
.
Funding: Through April 30, 2027, with preference for a January 2026 start
, though later start dates may be considered.
- Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related discipline
- Proficiency in measuring optical properties (spectroscopy, light scattering, microscopy)
- Background in soft materials, complex fluids, or colloidal science
- Submit CV with publications, detailed research experience, and 2–3 reference letters
