RoleTerrana Biosciences is building a new generation of RNA‑based technologies to transform agriculture. We are seeking a Research Associate I/II (Contract) to join our Molecular Assays team and support the generation of high‑quality molecular data that enables discovery, platform development, and product advancement across the company.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nucleic acid extraction, PCR, qPCR, and digital PCR (dPCR) assays to support research and development programs.
- Prepare samples, reagents, standards, and controls for molecular assay workflows.
- Analyze assay results and ensure data quality, accuracy, and reproducibility.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and document results using electronic laboratory systems.
- Support high‑throughput sample processing and assay operations.
- Contribute to assay optimization, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support project objectives.
Required
- B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field.
- RA I: B.S. Degree and up to 2 years of relevant laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.
- RA II: B.S. Degree and 2–4 years or M.S. and up to 2 years of relevant laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.
- Experience with nucleic acid extraction and PCR‑based techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and record‑keeping practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Preferred
- Experience with qPCR and/or digital PCR platforms.
- Experience handling RNA samples and RNA‑based assays.
- Familiarity with high‑throughput workflows, laboratory automation, or LIMS systems.
- Experience in synthetic biology, RNA biology, or agricultural biotechnology.
