Job Description & How to Apply Below
The successful candidate will be a hands‑on experimentalist and integral member of our growing research team, working closely with experienced scientists to advance novel biologics toward the clinic. With a current focus on autoimmune disease, this individual will take ownership of immunological assays and support in vivo studies, operating at the interface of in vitro and in vivo research that drives our lead program.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute across both discovery and translational development, helping to generate the data that guides key scientific and strategic decisions.
We are a small, focused team looking for researchers who:
- Take ownership of experiments from design through data interpretation
- Bring scientific rigor and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset
- Thrive in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative startup environment
- Communicate findings clearly and contribute to team‑level decision‑making
- Process and prepare murine blood and tissue specimens for downstream analyses.
- Perform multicolor flow cytometry assays, including sample preparation, instrument operation, data acquisition, and Flow Jo‑based analysis of murine and human specimens.
- Isolate, culture, and phenotypically characterize primary human immune cells.
- Develop and execute immunological assays, including cytokine production, cytotoxicity, and proliferation assays.
- Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and observations in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Analyze and interpret data, summarize findings, and present results to team members.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with colleagues in protein sciences, analytical development, and discovery research.
- Support in vivo pharmacology studies through sample collection, processing, and analysis.
- B.S. with 1–4 years or M.S. with 0–3 years of experience in immunology, cell biology, or a related discipline, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands‑on experience with multicolor flow cytometry, including immunophenotyping of murine and human specimens and Flow Jo‑based data analysis.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and maintenance of primary cells and established cell lines.
- Proficiency with flow cytometry acquisition software (Attune, FACSDiva, or equivalent), data analysis tools (Flow Jo, Prism), and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to independently execute scientific objectives while working closely with management.
- Highly collaborative, eager to learn, and adaptable in a fast‑paced research environment.
- Experience developing immune cell functional assays, including magnetic bead‑based isolation, cytokine assays, and primary cell co‑culture systems.
- Experience with in vitro immunology assays, including antigen recall, proliferation, and reporter assays.
- Familiarity with in vivo pharmacology techniques, including mouse handling, dosing, and blood collection.
- Experience working with murine models of immune‑mediated disease is a plus.
