Biologist - Human Colon Organoid Culture

Biologist Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Biologist to support immunology discovery research in a dynamic biotechnology environment. This position focuses on generating high quality in vitro data using human organoid systems, primary immune cells, and advanced molecular biology techniques. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross functional scientific teams to execute experiments, analyze data, and contribute to early stage therapeutic research.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative laboratory setting supporting innovative biologics and drug discovery programs.

Pay Range: $40 to $45 per hour

Duration: 6 Months Contract (Potential Extension Based on Performance and Business Needs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform human colon organoid culture, passaging, maintenance, and experimental plating.
• Conduct cell based in vitro assays using mammalian cell lines and primary human immune cells.
• Evaluate biologics and small molecules using functional assays measuring proliferation, cytokine release, and gene expression.
• Perform molecular and cellular biology techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, HTRF, and qPCR.
• Process biological samples and isolate immune cells from blood and tissue when required.
• Analyze, interpret, document, and communicate experimental results to project teams.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and support multiple research programs simultaneously.
• Develop and optimize laboratory protocols to improve experimental workflows.
• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to support ongoing research activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Hands on experience with human colon organoid culture.
• Experience working with primary human immune cells including myeloid cells and PBMCs.
• Strong experience performing cell based in vitro assays.
• Experience with flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, HTRF, and qPCR.
• Experience with sterile mammalian cell culture techniques.
• Excellent scientific communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced laboratory environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ex vivo animal tissue processing.
• Experience isolating immune cells from animal tissue.
• Experience developing or optimizing cell based assays.
• Experience supporting early stage drug discovery research.
• Experience working with biologics and therapeutic screening programs.
