Job SummaryResponsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, organising and preparing samples, conducting experiments, and recording and analysing data. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions- Perform laboratory experiments following established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare and handle samples, reagents, and solutions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, conducting routine calibration and troubleshooting as needed.
- Record experimental data accurately and maintain organised records of procedures, protocols, and results.
- Compile and analyse data using appropriate statistical and analytical methods.
- Assist in data interpretation and presentation, contributing to research findings and reports.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study required.
Experience
Prior laboratory experience, either through academic coursework, internships, or employment is preferred (1–2 years).

- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and instruments used in research experiments.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and scientific software tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey experimental procedures, results, and challenges.

The Kwon Laboratory ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) at the Ragon Institute has an opening for a highly motivated research technician to study microbial ecology and mucosal immune responses in the female genital tract and gut that impact human health. The person hired will work under the supervision of Prof. Kwon and the Kwon Lab Director of Sequencing and Data Generation conducting patient‑oriented translational research to develop new insights and therapeutic strategies to improve health outcomes globally.
Projects will advance novel therapeutic strategies and utilise samples from large, well‑characterised patient cohorts based in the US and sub‑Saharan Africa to understand how microbial communities shape mucosal immunity, epithelial barrier function, inflammation, and susceptibility to infection and their impact on HIV, pregnancy, fertility, and cervical cancer.
