Principal Scientist, Systems and Disease Biology

As a Principal Scientist within our Systems and Disease Biology Cluster, you will decode disease mechanisms at cellular resolution and pioneer AI‑powered workflows that accelerate the path from discovery to patient impact. Our mission is to deconstruct disease mechanisms into pathways and cellular building blocks and advance innovative therapeutics. We are seeking an independent, proactive, and well‑organized individual with expertise in complex cellular analytics and strong data science skills.

• Generate hypotheses on how targets, pathways, and cell types/drug states drive diseases (immunology, neurology, oncology) by integrating multi‑omics and multimodal data, including real‑world data and clinical metadata.
• Apply established analytical methods to understand disease and drug mechanisms.
• Design intelligent agentic workflows that streamline the deployment of innovative algorithms and computational models.
• Lead projects involving internal experiment design and data analytics, as well as outsourcing of established workflows and complex follow‑up mechanistic assays (organoid, CRISPR, proteomics).
• Collaborate with academic, industry, and internal partners on method development and disease‑focused scientific studies.
• Lead and contribute to high‑profile presentations and publications.
• Support the growth of the team by mentoring interns and junior scientists, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative research environment.

• Ph.D. in systems biology, computational biology, biostatistics, or a related quantitative field with proven experience in a relevant disease area (Immunology, Neurology, or Oncology), or a Ph.D. in biological sciences with an advanced track record of data analytics, ML/AI, or computational biology.
• At least 2 years of post‑doctoral experience in relevant academic or industry roles.
• Hands‑on experience in ML/AI and building or deploying agentic analysis workflows.
• Extensive experience and deep knowledge of multi‑omics and/or multimodal data analysis, with the ability to extract actionable interpretation and conclusions.
• A track record of productivity, innovation and impact (publications or patents).
• Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and team skills; a track record of success working collaboratively across disciplines.
