Main Responsibilities- Lead and perform polymorphism studies for synthetic molecules, including polymorph screening, in‑depth physical characterization and thermodynamic assessment.
- Design and conduct salt selection studies (salt screening, in‑depth physical characterization and stability assessment).
- Act as the solid‑state representative on development projects to deploy solid‑form selection strategy in collaboration with other functions (e.g., Crystallization, Biopharm, and Chemistry).
- Develop and implement analytical methods using equipment including XRPD, DSC, TGA, SEM, Raman, IR, and laser granulometry.
- Provide physical characterization support (e.g., XRPD, PDS) to internal partner teams.
- Use computational tools to perform crystal structure prediction studies.
- Generate technical reports independently.
- Develop effective collaborations with others within project teams and between analytical groups.
- Introduce innovative analytical approaches to facilitate optimal decision‑making, including automation and AI/modeling integration.
- Promote scientific excellence through internal and external presentations and publications.
- PhD in chemistry, pharmaceutical science, material science, or related fields with a minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral experience in a pharma or biopharma environment.
- In‑depth experience with solid‑state characterization instruments: XRPD, DSC, TGA.
- Expertise in polymorphism and salt selection and understanding of powder and particle properties.
- In‑depth understanding of pharmaceutical solid‑state properties.
- Experience with SEM, Raman, IR, or laser granulometry.
- Demonstrated expertise in crystallography and computational prediction.
- Experience in crystal structure resolution by sc‑XRD.
- Experience in crystallization of synthetic molecules (e.g., crystallization process, single‑crystal growth).
- Having an established scientific network in the industry and academia.
- Good oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in individual and group settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi‑disciplinary team environment.
- Record of adhering to and promoting lab safety practices.
