Overview:
The Oncology research department at   is recruiting a Senior Scientist with a strong background in cellular and molecular biology to join their Target Discovery and Biology group based in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will carry out cutting-edge research in the areas of oncology in close collaboration with other leading research groups within  .

The candidate will have the responsibility of generating high-quality data to support the identification and validation of new targets, with the goal of accelerating drug discovery. The candidate will make use of a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques to unravel the cellular mechanisms that regulate the function of the identified targets.

Additionally, the candidate will assess new state-of-the-art technologies and explore their potential for enhancing our ability to identify targets and create more accurate complex-disease models. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in molecular and cellular biology, along with proficiency in some of the leading technologies in the field.
We seek a motivated and ambitious scientist wishing to continue a successful scientific career in a fast-paced drug discovery environment.

Duties:
  • Design, perform and interpret in vitro experiments under the leadership of the Lab Head
  • Propose experimental alternatives, explore and introduce Client technologies and approaches.
  • Analyze and effectively report data, as well as presenting the data in different team meetings
  • Safe and effectively work with radionuclides
  • Critical reading of the literature and ability to apply it to the project
  • Closely work with multiple teams across expertise groups within Oncology
  • Efficiently contribute to maintain a functional laboratory, technical equipment and tools
Qualifications:
  • MSc or BSc or qualified Lab Technician (apprenticeship/vocational training) in cellular biology, molecular biology or another relevant discipline (no PhD)
  • At least, 2-5 years of biomedical research.
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience in applying a wide range of cellular and molecular biological methods (in particular: CRISPR, qRT-PCR, cloning, cell culture, cell viability/death assays, transient/stable cell line generation, immunoblotting, FACS) and softwares such as Microsoft Office, prism, spotfire
  • Experience using basic bioinformatics tools to support experimental design, data analysis and interpretation is considered a plus
