Associate Principal Scientist – Discovery Immunology (Cambridge, MA)

Our company is a global health‑care leader with a diversified portfolio of prescription medicines, vaccines, and animal health products. In our Discovery Immunology organization we develop and advance innovative therapies for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases in gastroenterology, rheumatology, and dermatology.

• Serve as a project co‑lead on discovery teams, driving projects from target validation through preclinical candidate (PCC) development, and co‑lead precision‑medicine discovery initiatives.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to advance therapeutic candidates from early discovery to clinical stage.
• Design, execute, and interpret complex in‑vitro studies, mentoring other scientists.
• Identify and implement new technologies and approaches to increase efficiency and accelerate program progression.
• Integrate and interpret complex data; communicate science and strategy to stakeholders and management.

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in immunology, cell biology, or a related biomedical science.

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in drug discovery research with demonstrated experience in precision‑medicine biomarker discovery and leading discovery‑stage programs.
• Strong background in immunology with extensive knowledge of immune‑mediated diseases across gastroenterology, rheumatology, and dermatology.
• Broad experience in cell biology techniques, including in‑vitro cell‑based assays, ELISA, multi‑color flow cytometry, and molecular biology (RT‑PCR).
• Proficiency in data analysis using Excel, Prism (Graph Pad), and Flow Jo.
• Ability to work independently and operate effectively within cross‑functional, matrixed teams.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
• Leadership through influence and mentoring; effective communication of data and program strategies to broad audiences.

• Experience in precision‑medicine biomarker discovery.
• Experience leading drug discovery programs in industry, particularly for autoimmune diseases.
• Experience working with multiple therapeutic modalities (small molecules, biologics, etc.).

Salary range: $ – $ (based on experience, education, and location). Eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.
