Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Rheumatology team at the Cambridge Research Center (CRC). The ideal candidate will be collaborative, experienced, adaptable, and driven, with the ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional environment and apply both theoretical and practical knowledge of core scientific research principles. This scientist will support in‑vitro research across our early‑through‑late‑stage discovery portfolio programs.
The successful candidate will design, execute, analyze and report in‑vitro studies that address key biological questions in rheumatic diseases, including Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA). They will apply fundamental scientific principles to preclinical research and demonstrate proficiency in laboratory techniques such as cell culture, molecular biology, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immune functional assays. Experience with primary human immune cells and immune‑mediated disease biology is preferred.
Responsibilities- Design and execute precise in‑vitro experiments to advance understanding of rheumatic disease biology.
- Skillfully apply techniques such as pipetting, cell culture, quantitative PCR, flow cytometry, ELISAs, MSD, and Luminex platforms.
- Analyze and interpret results, producing accurate reports and presentations.
- Follow and adapt experimental protocols while implementing new methods as needed.
- Maintain equipment and manage supplies to ensure efficient lab operations.
- Review literature to identify insights that inform experimental design and offer new ideas.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams, providing scientific expertise to advance projects.
- Academic qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (0–3 years of experience) or Master’s Degree (no additional experience). - Proficiency in cell culture techniques and a strong grasp of molecular biology, including practical expertise in ELISA, MSD, Luminex, and flow cytometry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Proven teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Outstanding time‑management and organizational abilities, handling multiple priorities effectively.
- Proactive and adaptive learner able to generate and assess data independently and rapidly acquire new skills.
