Associate Director, Market Research – Cambridge, MA
The role supports Sanofi’s market intelligence capabilities, delivering data‑driven insights that shape strategy and tactical decisions across the commercial organization. The Associate Director leads market research projects, drives methodological innovation, and partners with cross‑functional teams to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Responsibilities- Execute end‑to‑end market research projects, from needs assessment to design, vendor selection, execution, and interpretation.
- Manage projects within budget, schedule, and corporate SOPs, ensuring high‑quality deliverables.
- Identify and recommend the most appropriate research methodologies to answer business questions.
- Collaborate with agencies and vendors, providing brand knowledge to support fieldwork and report development.
- Develop and deliver clear, concise presentations that communicate complex findings and actionable insights.
- Synthesize information from multiple sources to proactively address commercial needs.
- Foster strong agency and cross‑functional partnerships, ensuring alignment across brand, forecasting, analytics, and patient services functions.
- Lead and mentor junior research staff, including Sr. Managers and Managers where applicable.
- Drive continuous improvement in research processes, incorporating AI and other innovative tools to enhance efficiency and insight depth.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of market research experience in pharmaceuticals, with exposure to consulting, agency, or vendor contexts (or 3 years with an advanced degree).
- Deep knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and statistics.
- Proven track record in planning, executing, and leading large research projects.
- Experience in applying AI to research methodologies to improve efficiency and insight generation.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
- Excellent project management skills, adept at balancing multiple concurrent priorities.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sources (prescription sales, patient claims, promotional audits) preferred.
- Strong communication skills for audiences ranging from senior leadership to operational teams.
- Demonstrated influence and collaboration in highly matrixed environments.
- High attention to detail, analytical problem‑solving, and adaptability in dynamic settings.
- Competitive salary ranging from $148,500 to $214,500, commensurate with experience.
