About the job

Sanofi is committed to be a world-class biologics research organization and strives to bring next generation, transformative therapies to its patients. Our global Large Molecule Research (LMR) organization is focused on antibodies and NANOBODY molecules as therapeutic modalities. Our platform enables and partners closely with other research platforms and Sanofi's therapeutic areas (Immunology & Inflammation, Immuno-Oncology, Rare & Neurologic Diseases) in the discovery and ultimate delivery of novel candidate molecules.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join our team in the Molecular, Expression and Screening Technologies (MEST) Group within Sanofi's North America R&D LMR organization. The lab-based candidate will be part of the Screening and Imaging sub-group and will be responsible for high-throughput functional screening of candidate molecules generated by our high throughput automated protein expression system, or provided by our Antibody Discovery, Antibody Engineering, or Antibody Production groups to aid in the discovery of new therapeutic antibodies.

Over the coming years, we expect growing demand on our platform driven by new antibody modalities and more complex assay formats. An increased need for functional screening capacity will also result from Sanofi's emerging state-of-the-art AI/ML pipeline, which will facilitate the design and structural elucidation of novel therapeutic antibody candidates.

The focus of this position is on the day-to-day operation of lab automation devices (dispensers, liquid handlers etc.), and an integrated high-throughput screening system, maintenance and troubleshooting of this system and its components.

Experience with mammalian cell culture, i.e. maintenance and expansion of reporter cell lines, is instrumental.

Join the engine of Sanofi's mission - where deep immunoscience meets bold, AI-powered research. In R&D, you'll drive breakthroughs that could turn the impossible into possible for millions.

About Sanofi:

We're an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people's lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system - and innovative pipeline - enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world and are supported and enhanced through our diverse portfolio of medical device and diagnostic products. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people's lives.

Main Responsibilities:

* Hands-on day-to-day maintenance of mammalian cell cultures (passaging, monitoring, contamination control, cryopreservation, thawing).

* Operation and routine maintenance of lab automation equipment (liquid handlers, dispensers) and a small integrated robotic system; adapt to different vendors/instrument models.

* Perform standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate experimental logs and inventory records.

* Basic troubleshooting of cell culture workflows and automation pipelines; escalate complex issues appropriately.

* Support sample handling workflows for high-throughput cellular assays and coordinate with team members for experiments.

* Follow safety and regulatory protocols for working with biological materials.

About you

Education:

* BS or MS in biology, chemistry or related field and at least 2 years of experience in a research laboratory or a biopharma/biotech company.

Experience & Technical

Skills:

* Experience in running automated, high throughput lab instrumentation (e.g. Agilent Bravo, Tecan Fluent, Integra Assist+)

* Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture

* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ability to work with biological registration systems (e.g. Genedata Screener, Genedata Biologics)

* Ability to work with large datasets through a variety of methods (e.g. Excel, Spotfire)

* Molecular Biology skills are a plus, as is experience with scheduling software and scripting

* Experience with an integrated high-throughput screening system and scheduling software
