Overview
We are building a world‑class biopharmaceutical R&D capability focused on conceiving and developing life‑changing treatments. This role focuses on leveraging Flagship’s scientific platforms to create novel treatment options across oncology, autoimmunity, and metabolism.
Position SummarySenior Research Associate in the In Vivo Pharmacology group. Responsibilities include independently developing and performing studies with animal models across multiple disease areas, collaborating with in‑vitro biology, translational science, and nonclinical groups to execute on company strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Support screening, characterization, and mechanism of action studies for drug candidates of various modalities, including small molecules, biologics, and nucleic acids.
- Generate high‑quality data using in‑vivo models of oncology, autoimmunity, and metabolism.
- Monitor animal health, record data accurately, and comply with IACUC regulations regarding animal welfare and care.
- Help develop ex‑vivo assays in conjunction with translational science to determine relevant pharmacodynamic biomarkers and mechanism of action of targets/programs within PM.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the larger in‑vivo group, in‑vitro biology, and translational teams to support PM’s daily operations in both the vivarium and the main laboratory.
- BSc or advanced degree in Biology or related disciplines with 2+ years of experience in animal handling within a research setting.
- Expertise in multiple forms of substance administration (e.g., PO, IP, IV, SC).
- Experience in necropsy, tissue collection, and processing.
- Demonstrated ability to execute or learn various in‑vitro and ex‑vivo assays (e.g., cell culture, ELISA, Flow cytometry).
- Proficient in scientific software (e.g., Excel, Graph Pad Prism, Flow Jo).
- Ability to analyze scientific data and clearly communicate summarized data to internal PM team members and stakeholders.
- Accurately record detailed documentation of experimental results via ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook).
- Ability to operate as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to advance projects at all stages.
- Research background in oncology, immunology, or metabolism in an industry or academic setting preferred.
- Previous experience with animal models of metabolism, oncology and autoimmunity preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with flow cytometry is a plus.
Salary range: $81,000 – $107,250. Compensation includes healthcare coverage, an annual incentive program, retirement benefits, and a broad range of other benefits.
