PositionSummary
Laronde is searching for an Associate Scientist who brings collaborative drive, scientific rigor and a desire to change the world with new eRNA medicines for patients. The Senior Research Associate be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team that seeks to push the possibilities of endless RNA therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities- Setting up mammalian-cell assays in multi-well format to aid in the development of endless RNA therapeutics
- Assist in the design and development of experiments to examine the expression, function, and localization of proteins in cells
- Transfection of mammalian cell lines with DNA and RNA
Handling and plating of primary cells, immune cells and cell lines for in vitro testing - Analysis by flow cytometry to detect specific modalities
- Running of gels of different formats for the analysis of nucleic acids and proteins
- Western blots and immunofluorescence analysis
- Critical data analysis skills, attention to details and troubleshooting abilities.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and data in electronic laboratory notebook in accordance with company policy.
- Effectively collaborate with a fully integrated research team to facilitate the success of projects.
- Excellent organizational skills and documentation practices.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline
- Experience in a biotechnology company in biologics discovery and development
- 8+ years experience with Bachelors, 6+ years with Masters required
- Experience with nucleic acid transfections, construct handling and procedures
- Experience in the handling and culturing of mammalian cell lines and primary cells
Experience with cell-based assays and fluorescence imaging techniques - Molecular biology experience involving transcription and gene expression
- Experience in the delivery of RNA to mammalian cells
