PositionSummary
Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join the In Vivo Pharmacology group supporting Oncology and Immunology discovery programs. The successful candidate will contribute to the evaluation of novel therapeutic candidates by designing and executing preclinical in vivo studies, with a focus on tumor models and immune-mediated disease systems. This role is laboratory-based and requires strong technical expertise, scientific rigor, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary research environment.
PositionResponsibilities In Vivo Study Execution (Oncology & Immunology)
- Laboratory-based role requiring routine animal work.
- Design and conduct in vivo studies in murine models of cancer and immune-mediated diseases (e.g., inflammation, autoimmune models).
- Perform compound dosing (IV, IP, SC), tumor measurements, clinical scoring, and animal monitoring.
- Perform complex animal procedures (e.g., tumor implantation, immune cell transfers, longitudinal sampling)
- Proficient with IVIS imaging and can operate independently.
- Collect and analyze experimental data using tools such as Graph Pad Prism, Excel, or similar.
- Troubleshoot
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic lab notebook (ELN) records.
- Prepare study summaries, contribute to data presentations, and support regulatory or project documentation.
- Work closely with Oncology and Immunology project teams
- Present findings at team meetings and contribute to scientific strategy discussions.
- Interface with external collaborators or CROs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with BMS policies, IACUC regulations, and animal welfare standards.
- Maintain lab supplies, equipment, and study materials.
- Participate in continuous improvement of in vivo models and workflows.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of academic and / or industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Oncology, Pharmacology, or related field.
- Typically 2+ years of relevant in vivo experience (industry preferred).
- Hands‑on experience with in vivo pharmacology and rodent handling.
- Proficiency in dosing techniques and sample collection (e.g., IV/IP injections, blood/tissue harvest).
- Experience with oncology tumor models and/or immunology disease models.
- Strong experience with IVIS imaging.
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills, scientific curiosity and problem‑solving mindset
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
