Job Description- The ideal candidate will be a hands-on laboratory scientist who enjoys bench-based research, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail.
- This role is well-suited for individuals who are eager to learn new technologies, contribute to innovative research programs, and gain broad exposure across multiple stages of the antibody discovery process.
- Perform routine and advanced molecular biology laboratory techniques in support of antibody discovery projects.
- Conduct PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, restriction digestions, gel electrophoresis, bead-based purification, and related molecular biology workflows.
- Support next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation and sequencing activities.
- Execute experiments requiring precise pipetting and handling of small-volume samples.
- Follow established laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Generate high-quality experimental data and maintain thorough laboratory documentation.
- Troubleshoot laboratory processes and identify opportunities for workflow improvements.
- Collaborate closely with scientists across molecular biology, immunization, and antibody discovery functions.
- Contribute to technology development initiatives, including automation and process optimization efforts.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities across the broader research team.
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Research experience gained through industry, academic, or laboratory-based environments.
- Hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques, including:
- PCR
- DNA/RNA isolation
- Gel electrophoresis
- Pipetting and sample preparation
- General laboratory procedures
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to follow protocols precisely while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn new techniques and technologies.
- Master's degree in a related scientific field.
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- Library preparation workflows
- Antibody discovery platforms
- Phage display or yeast display technologies
- Laboratory automation systems
- Hamilton, Biomek, or similar robotic liquid handling platforms
- Exposure to experimental design, process improvement, or laboratory innovation initiatives.
- Data analysis experience related to sequencing or molecular biology workflows.
