About the Role:
Director, Commercial Insights and Analytics Responsibilities
- Serve as lead insights thought partner to Commercial leadership; identify critical questions, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead integrated insights planning; synthesize primary research, secondary data, competitive intelligence, epidemiology, and market developments into a cohesive market perspective.
- Translate insights into implications and recommendations; identify priority knowledge gaps and approaches to address them.
- Own primary market research strategy and annual research plan for portfolio and commercialization priorities.
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research to address unmet needs, treatment decisions, perceptions, adoption barriers, and market opportunities.
- Develop/refine/govern patient-based commercial forecasts for late-stage portfolio; incorporate epidemiology, patient flow, market research, competitive dynamics, access assumptions, analogs, and clinical/regulatory events.
- Create scenario-based forecasts to support long-range planning, portfolio prioritization, lifecycle strategy, and business development.
- Lead commercial competitive intelligence for priority disease areas; synthesize congresses, data readouts, regulatory events, and milestones.
- Define launch measurement framework (KPIs/leading indicators) and partner to ensure data/reporting/measurement capabilities.
- Interpret launch performance by integrating quantitative signals with primary/field insights and competitive context; recommend actions.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/PhD or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years in biopharmaceutical market research/insights/forecasting/competitive intelligence/commercial strategy/consulting or related.
- Strong oncology commercialization understanding (patient journeys, customer behavior, access, launch performance).
- Deep analytical methods to frame questions, interpret outputs, challenge assumptions, and partner with technical teams.
- Track record supporting late-stage assets, launch planning, and in-market brands; expertise in patient-based forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Proven ability to integrate multiple evidence sources into strategic perspective.
- Ability to present to senior executives; manage external partners/agencies.
- Strategic synthesis; structured problem-solving; collaboration across functions; comfort with ambiguity; high integrity.
San Francisco or Boston; ~20% travel.
Compensation/BenefitsBase pay range: $230,000–$250,000 annually; total compensation includes equity, bonus, and benefits.
