Automation Scientist supporting drug discovery in the Data, AI & Genome Sciences team at a biopharma research lab, focusing on advanced automation platforms for molecular and genomic assays.
Responsibilities- develop, optimize, and validate high-throughput automation workflows for single-cell sequencing, CRISPR screens, and multi-omic assays
- collaborate with biologists, data analysts, and stakeholders to enable reproducible, scalable data generation
- troubleshoot systems, analyze experimental data, and communicate findings to senior leadership
- Master’s in engineering or life sciences, or Bachelor's with 3+ years in laboratory automation
- extensive hands‑on experience with laboratory automation systems (e.g., Biomek, Hamilton, Echo)
- high-throughput genomics (single-cell RNA-seq, Olink HT, CRISPR screens), and molecular biology techniques
- proficiency in designing and executing large-scale automated protocols
- strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- experience in genomic technologies
- automation validation
- cross‑functional collaboration
focus on cutting‑edge genomics, automation of complex assays, work within a biotech/pharma R&D environment, and cross‑functional interaction with experimental and data teams.
Work Setuponsite in Cambridge, MA; travel ~10%.
