Overview
Formaggio Kitchen has been an institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts for nearly 50 years – a gourmand’s paradise doubling as a neighborhood grocer. Formaggio Kitchen's produce department works with many small farms within New England and nationally. We focus on organic and sustainably grown fruits and vegetables, and work hard to source the best produce available and sell it in the best condition possible.
Responsibilities- Stock produce
- Cull and receive deliveries
- Place orders
- Assist customers with produce questions
- Passionate about good produce
- Understanding of food handling and food safety regulations and expectations
- Shrewd decision making and creative problem solving to minimize produce loss and keep displays bountiful
- Conscientious and hands-on, with accuracy in placing orders
- Good aesthetic sense and merchandising
This can be a full-time or part-time position. This is a physically demanding role and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
CompensationThis position is hourly non-exempt and pays $17–$19 per hour, varies with experience.
