Role Overview
As a Partner Account Executive on Akamai's Strategic Alliance Sales Team, you will manage relationships with partners, drive business, and develop long‑term growth strategies in support of Optiv and the broader Akamai partner network. Your focus will be on building collaboration and expanding opportunities across the ecosystem.
Responsibilities- Own and develop partner relationships.
- Develop and execute joint business plans aligned with Akamai’s strategy, including targets for deal registration, pipeline, and growth.
- Launch and drive distributor onboarding, training, and certification initiatives.
- Partner with Akamai Partner Executives and Major Account Executives to ensure distributors actively source, register, and support new opportunities.
- Leverage distributor marketing resources to run campaigns, sponsor ships, and events that promote Akamai solutions and drive demand.
- Facilitate quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and executive meetings to track performance, remove roadblocks, and accelerate growth.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of sales engineers to ensure successful consultative engagements with partners and customers.
- Work closely with Akamai direct sales, channel leadership, operations, and marketing to maximize distributor impact.
- 8+ years in distribution, channel account management, or partner‑facing sales roles in the technology industry.
- Experience managing Optiv or VARs with similar go‑to‑market strategies.
- Understanding of distributor go‑to‑market models and the value they bring to vendors.
- Track record of building and growing partnerships that deliver revenue results and quota achievement.
- Experience in security, cloud, or networking solutions.
- Ability to travel to events and meetings as needed.

CompensationFor US‑based candidates only, the On‑Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) for this position ranges from $173,600 to $312,400 per year. Compensation varies for candidates outside the US and may include equity awards and an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP). Eligibility requirements apply.
