Scientific Associate Director, Oncology Translational Research
Position SummaryReports to Scientific VP, Head of Translational Research (Oncology). Leads translational strategy and execution for early-stage oncology programs, focusing on biomarker development, patient stratification, and mechanism-of-action and resistance insights.
Position Responsibilities- Lead translational and clinical biomarker strategy and plan (patient stratification, target engagement, pharmacodynamics, mechanisms of action/resistance) for assigned solid tumor oncology early clinical development programs.
- Provide scientific subject‑matter expertise, integrating translational research with clinical development plans, generating and analyzing data, and communicating findings to the development team and matrix leadership.
- Collaborate with discovery, clinical, precision medicine, regulatory, medical, and commercial stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment.
- Build and maintain cross‑disciplinary relationships, participate in decision‑making to support R&D portfolio goals.
- Identify risks and develop innovative solutions, including new approaches and technologies, to address novel challenges.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
- Master’s Degree with 10+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
- Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences with 8+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
- Minimum 4+ years of matrix leadership experience.
- Ph.D., MD or Ph.D./MD in Oncology, Immunology or related fields.
- 5–8+ years of industry experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in clinical development, oncology biomarker strategy and implementation.
- Deep knowledge of current and evolving competitive landscape in Cancer Immunology (multi‑specific and T‑cell engager).
- Working knowledge of various technical platforms tailored for clinical biomarkers.
- Experience authoring or reviewing regulatory documents.
- Proven publication record (manuscripts, conference presentations).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with external partners and familiarity with foreign regulations, agencies and clinical research landscape.
- Domestic and international travel as needed.
Cambridge Crossing: $214,020 – $259,344 annual salary. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation determined by demonstrated experience.
