Payrate: $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

Summary:
The ideal candidate will have lab experience and at least one year of experience working on similar projects. The role involves working on downstream chromatography, including purification through AKTAs and NFF/TFF filtration systems, process sampling and sample submission, utilizing high throughput technologies, and experimental documentation in electronic notebook systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, characterization, scale-up, and support of upstream and downstream processes for clinical advancement.
  • Maintain and ensure the reliability of lab equipment.
  • Design and execute bench-scale experiments covering the end-to-end drug substance process, including cell culture and purification operations.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address day-to-day experimental challenges.
  • Contribute to laboratory operations, technology development, and process automation.
  • Expand and develop skills in both cell culture and purification.
  • Independently execute lab operations, including setting up and running AKTA or filtration units, sampling and analysis, data compilation and verification, and presentations.
  • Engage actively in cross-department scientific and organization/process improvement efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or Associate degree with 4 years of scientific experience.
  • Basic understanding of cell culture and/or protein chromatography and filtration principles.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and/or purification operations is a plus.
  • Ability to identify, develop, and implement solutions to practical problems using fundamental scientific and engineering principles, preferably in a process development environment.
  • Experience with data analytical tools (Excel, Spotfire, etc.) and statistical analysis and programming in JMP, R, and/or Python environments.
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work successfully within a diverse team in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Familiarity with the design of experiments and statistical analysis of data.
  • Prior experience with project management is a plus.
  • AKTA prior working experience (non-educational) is nice to have.
Desired Skills:
  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences.
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is:$22.00 - $24.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
