Job Description:
The Discovery Neuroscience In Vivo Pharmacology group in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated scientist to join a dynamic team supporting target identification, validation, PK/PD and efficacy studies. The ideal candidate will also have people and student management experience, as well as experience in independently running complexexperiments.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsible for design and implementation of in vivo testing of multi specific biologics, small molecules, and siRNAs to support projects in the areas of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease
- Identify and solve technical problems independently, implement new assays and workflows
- Mentor junior scientists providing scientific and technical leadership in the design and execution of in vivo and ex vivo efficacy assessments
- Ensure consistency and quality of technical reports
- Collaborate with colleagues at various Abb Vie sites
- Present original work internally across departments and at internal and external scientific conferences; may author or co-author peer-reviewed scientific papers or patents.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BScor MSin Neuroscience, Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, or related discipline with typically5+ (BSc), or3+ (MS) years ofexperiencein industry and/or academia
- Proven track record ofworking in multidisciplinary in vivo pharmacology teams
- Experience with in vivo models of neurodegeneration, particularly with models of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease
- Proven track record in characterizing complex biotherapeutics in vivo (biologics, small molecules, siRNA)
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
- Candidate must be a goal-oriented team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong “can-do”attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background inreceptor and / or transporter biology
- Background in brain barriers biology
- Experience with ex vivo readouts includingimmunohistochemistryandbiochemistry (ELISA, WB)
- Experience with image analysis

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location,and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
