As a Security Officer Community Patrol in Cambridge, MA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor assigned areas and complete routine foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence that can help to deter security‑related incidents. You will greet tenants and visitors, respond to questions and concerns, and communicate observations to site leaders.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial property.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common areas, parking locations, and perimeter points, helping to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and security‑related equipment such as cameras, alarms, and/or key control systems, and report maintenance concerns or unusual conditions per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and/or fire and intrusion alarm activations, and notify property management and/or public responders as directed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and tenant or visitor interactions in written reports and/or electronic logs, escalating issues through the chain of command as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
