Job Description SummaryThe Person nel Security Coordinator oversees the personnel security function, processing clearance applications, providing guidance on reporting requirements, and managing security briefings, badging, and related tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate Draper’s personnel security functions for employees, contractors, and consultants, including security briefings and badging actions.
- Process clearance applications, review SF‑86s, obtain fingerprints, submit to government, and update databases.
- Track purchase orders, annual refresher briefings, security documentation, and renewals.
- Ensure data accuracy in DISS, SIMS, and AssureID, and conduct periodic audits and annual self‑inspection tasks.
- Manage new hire and termination processes, including briefings, badging, and data entry.
- Assist with visitor service center badge office and security reception coverage as needed.
- Promptly respond to personnel and subcontractor requests, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
- Participate in creating, maintaining, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for the Personnel Security team.
- Interface with all personnel levels, management, and government sponsors to enforce controls and adjust policies as necessary.
- Stay current on DoD policies and procedures through online courses and training, supporting modernization and technology adoption.
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, service‑oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
- Self‑starter who works well with all management levels and staff.
- Organized, detail‑focused with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Some knowledge of business software such as DSX, DISS/NBIS, SIMs, NISS, and SWFT.
- Some knowledge of government policies such as 32
CFR Part
117 (NISPOM), SEAD3, and related regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in security, criminal justice, or a related field is preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in industrial security, personnel security, or visitor management is preferred.
Applicants must obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Current in‑scope Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret clearance.
