Job Summary

We are seeking an Instrument Technician with knowledge and skill to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, test, and repair instrument devices used to measure and control temperature, flow, pressure, and level in industrial processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work independently from drawings, schematics, diagrams, and manuals.
  • Familiar with instrument symbols and abbreviations used in instrument loop drawings, PIDS, and flow diagrams.
  • Safely use all test equipment required to troubleshoot, test, and calibrate temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters, indicators, and controllers.
  • Understand logic and operational concepts involved in pneumatic and electronic instrument control loops.
  • Install tubing and fittings used with high/low pressure sensing lines, air supplies, and purges for instrument devices.
  • Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices as they relate to the instrument technician’s scope of work.
  • Use and maintain all personal protective equipment required for the assigned work.
  • Adhere to hazards and safe work procedures associated with elevated work areas, personnel lift equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, Emergency Action Plans, Safe Work Permits, Incident Reporting, and Hazcom procedures.
Qualifications

MUST HAVE VALID TWIC

  • Experience installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and instrument loop diagrams.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code, OSHA standards, and PPE.
  • Strong understanding of pneumatic and electronic control systems.
