Job Summary
Perform a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled tasks to maintain the operation of the buildings within the network. Does this position require Patient Care? No.
Essential Functions- Emergency and routine repairs are responded to within department time frames and meet regulatory requirements to ensure safety.
- Mechanical equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Lights and nurse call lights are replaced, beds and other patient equipment repaired ensuring safety, temperature control devices adjusted, sinks and toilets maintained in working order and other repairs completed per established guidelines.
- Painting services completed per established guidelines.
- Documentation reflects repairs, replacement parts, and adjustments per department and regulatory guidelines.
- Preventative maintenance program established and maintained per established time frames and OSHA requirements.
- Safety equipment and tools readily available and in working order.
- Assistance provided to the various trades in the installation, maintenance or basic repair of equipment, piping, electric, HVAC systems, and various other duties per department standards.
- Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma in a Related Field of Study preferred. - Licenses and Credentials:
Section 608 Technician Certification. Environmental Protection Agency preferred. - Experience:
Prior trades experience 1–2 years required. Experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledgeable of safe maintenance practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- Effective verbal, electronic and written communication skills in English.
- Computer proficiency required;
Microsoft Office applications preferred with ability to learn new software. - Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, working with a diverse population.
