Ensure all plumbing systems operate as designed, including routine installations, maintenance, and testing of equipment and systems, calibrations, and repair and related piping. Work on special projects and programs to support construction and renovation projects. Monitor the installation and repair of equipment and systems by contractors during construction and renovation projects.
Essential Functions- Install, repair, and maintain piping systems for water, sewage, gas, steam, and air per department standards.
- Order and maintain replacement parts, materials, and tools to meet the needs of work orders.
- Respond to emergency and routine repairs within department time frames.
- Prepare stock and material lists to complete work order requests and other routine work.
- Complete daily rounds to ensure mechanical equipment is functioning and report malfunctions to appropriate parties.
- Document repairs, replacement parts, and adjustments as per department and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist various trades in the installation, maintenance, or basic repair of equipment, piping, electrical, HVAC systems, and other duties per department standards.
- Perform and maintain the preventive maintenance program per established time frames.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
- Journeyman Plumber state license required.
- Plumbing service experience: 2–3 years.
- Knowledge of plumbing supplies and equipment, ability to read blueprints and piping diagrams.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes.
- Working knowledge of automated building maintenance systems.
- Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills in English.
- Computer proficiency required;
