Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking Dev Sec Ops  Software Engineers who will provide engineering support for a new SW engineering initiative involving AI tools. This position will be physically located in Cambridge, MA.

Role Overview

* In this role, you will design, develop, document, and implement optimized AI algorithms and models using industry‑standard methods and tools, with a strong emphasis on ethics, safety, and bias mitigation. You will evaluate existing AI tools for code generation and their applicability to mission‑critical systems, while also preparing, analyzing, and validating large datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.

* You will test, document, and debug AI models and software systems; train and optimize model performance; conduct safety and risk assessments; and deploy scalable solutions into production environments. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams is essential to align AI capabilities with engineering and operational requirements. You will also stay current with emerging AI technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory considerations, contributing to the evolution of AI design best practices.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced AI algorithms and models, ensuring ethical and unbiased outcomes.

* Mentor and support junior engineers through technical challenges and project execution.

* Utilize automated testing methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Google Test, PyTest) to ensure rapid and reliable test execution.

* Apply CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD) to optimize development workflows.

* Collaborate with hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) teams to integrate software with HIL testing environments.

* Embrace AI tools to accelerate development and testing

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline, or a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience.

* Proficient in C, C++, Python, or other modern programming languages.

* Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation abilities, with a comfort level in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment

Preferred Qualifications

* Education or hands‑on experience in AI algorithms and/or AI development tools.

* Experience with ADA or avionics‑related software is a plus.

* Familiarity with AI frameworks such as Tensor Flow or PyTorch a plus.

* Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance post start if needed
