As a Senior Product Architect at Akamai, you will create end-to-end architecture and high‑level designs for new security products and features, translating requirements into bold architecture and addressing complex security pain points.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with product management to understand and finalize the requirements so they fit our technology and bring value to our customers.
- Define the end‑to‑end architecture and the set of functionality required in new or existing products and systems to realize the requirements.
- Collaborate with other organizations to realize the non‑functional needs such as security, availability, and scalability.
- Present the designs for review.
- Guide the engineering teams as they work on the detailed designs and implementation.
- Acquire and share expertise in security products and industry while contributing to their future vision and technical roadmap.
- 12 years of relevant software experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience designing large‑scale, low‑latency, web‑based distributed systems.
- Knowledge of big data analytics, machine learning algorithms, and/or appropriate use of AI in software solutions.
- Big‑picture and end‑to‑end vision when designing new features, with a thorough understanding of SDLC and web technologies.
- Good interpersonal skills, comfortable presenting ideas, and the ability to collaborate effectively; ability to handle ambiguity and imperfect information.
- Passionate about building features that are usable for our customers and help solve their problems.
- Proactive in researching systems and issues, documenting solutions thoroughly, and an interest in learning new technologies.

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For U.S. based candidates only, the base salary for this position ranges from $169,300 to $304,700 per year. Compensation for candidates outside the U.S. will vary. The package may include incentive compensation such as annual bonus or incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
