About the role

The Investor role is a full‑filled member of the investment team and will advocate for potential investments, discuss strategy, and conduct diligence.

We’re looking for someone to push our thinking and help find the next wave of great companies by acting as a new set of eyes, ears, and a voice for our team.

You are innately curious about the world and thrive when other intelligent, determined people surround you. You’ve founded or scaled a company and have the scars to show for it. You find yourself walking into any business – from an artisanal coffee shop to a doctor’s office – wondering how to improve their customer experience. You’re constantly trying new software tools to optimise your personal workflow and testing products you discover.

• Building experience: Your founding and/or scaling experience helps inform your empathy for founders. It doesn’t have to be a startup, but we’re looking for someone who has shown an affinity for entrepreneurship.
• Point of View: You HAVE and LOVE taking points of view on tech and startups and sharing them with your colleagues and the world. You breathe conviction but have enough humility to acknowledge blind spots and are hungry to learn. You should be comfortable challenging your own beliefs to build conviction, guided more by understanding opportunities than pre‑established criteria.
• Boston‑focused: You have a network in the tech ecosystem that respects and values you. We are in the office 3-4 days a week and far more if you count the events and networking opportunities! This role is not a fit for WFH die‑harders.
• Hustle: You can move projects forward, get an intro to a key node in a network, or learn about a new industry with little direction. You make the most of every minute.
• Substantive & Social: You have a high emotional IQ, love working collaboratively to find the truth of any situation, and discover interesting people wherever you go.
• Optimism: Most of all, you want to work on helping the next generation of great founders learn from each other so that they can make a dent in the universe.
• Technically adept: Our ideal candidate will have worked at a software startup, designed interfaces, shipped code, or otherwise demonstrated a passion for participating in the tech ecosystem.
• Experience: Candidates should have 7+ years of work experience.
