Automation Software Development Engineer
The Automation Software Development Engineer plays a critical role in advancing software quality, reliability, and development efficiency through the design and implementation of robust automation solutions. You will serve as a technical leader within the team, driving best practices, enabling continuous improvement, and ensuring high engineering standards across automation, testing, and development workflows.
Your Role- Define and drive automation quality goals and development practices in partnership with the team, promoting continuous improvement through rigorous engineering standards, test strategies, and automation methodologies.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks, test infrastructure, and supporting tools to validate functionality, performance, reliability, and integration across products and services.
- Integrate software components, automation frameworks, and third‑party libraries into existing systems and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless interoperability with minimal impact to development velocity.
- Develop software to log, store, and analyze performance metrics, test results, usage data, and error signals, enabling continuous monitoring, early issue detection, and data‑driven quality improvements.
- Conduct and participate in code and automation reviews, providing actionable, constructive feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards, maintainability, and long‑term quality.
- Analyse and optimize system and automation performance, identifying test gaps, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks to improve execution time, coverage, reliability, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers, designers, and QA engineers to define requirements, design automation strategies, and ship features aligned with business and user needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing workflows and automation processes through tooling, test strategy refinement, and continuous integration improvements.
- 3+ years of experience developing, designing, coding, and testing complex solutions with solid understanding of object‑oriented software development concepts and methodologies.
- Proficiency in .NET Framework, C#, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Git Hub, CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD) and related practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline (required).
This is an office‑based team role that requires on‑site presence at least 3 days per week. The office is located in Cambridge, MA.
Compensation & BenefitsPay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $128,000 to $205,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, compensation may include an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long‑term incentives. This is an office role. The position requires the employee to be on‑site at least three days per week and to reside in or be within commuting distance to Cambridge, MA. Relocation benefits are not provided for this position.
