Job Description SummaryA Flight Computer Software‑in‑the‑Loop Simulation Engineer designs, develops, and refines dynamic models, simulations, and computing infrastructure for rapid assessment, integration, and testing of new flight computers and aerospace vehicles.
Duties & Responsibilities- Model operational environments, perform studies via computer simulation, and recommend alternative architectures.
- Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks to assess system survivability, effectiveness, and overall performance in engagement and mission‑level scenarios.
- Architect, integrate, verify, and validate components of a simulation within a larger aerospace project life cycle.
- Develop simulation requirements, write and automate test plans.
- Develop real‑time hardware interfaces and integrate legacy software models.
- Create new software models in collaboration with subject‑matter experts.
- Integrate 3D visualization tools, develop and maintain an in‑house real‑time software framework.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with analytical methods, data visualization, and quantitative analysis.
- Excellent mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Rapidly understand and integrate new software APIs.
- Efficiently triage, debug, and resolve software and hardware integration issues.
- Experience developing systems with human‑factors, UI/UX, and usability requirements.
- Knowledge of aerospace systems and related sciences.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 5‑7 years of Systems Engineering or related experience.
- Professional software development experience in a multidisciplinary, team setting.
- Significant experience with C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience with real‑time operating systems is a plus.
- Experience with Linux, bash scripting, and operating‑system administration.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and virtualization.
- Ability to develop test plans, software development plans, and document test results.
Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a Current In‑Scope Top Secret Clearance. The position requires on‑site work in Cambridge, MA.
Salary & BenefitsThe U.S. base salary range for this full‑time position is $82,300.00 to $. Additional benefits include workplace flexibility, employee clubs, health and finance workshops, off‑site social events, and discounts to local museums and cultural activities.
