This is a full time on‑site position. As the Shipping Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing daily shipping and receiving operations, with a specific focus on managing the flow of sample materials. You will ensure all shipments are processed accurately, received items are documented properly, and inventory is maintained in accordance with company standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external partners.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED);
  Associate degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a shipping and receiving or logistics‑related role, preferably in biotech or pharma
• Familiarity with shipping carriers (Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, etc.) and related platforms
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Experience shipping biologicals/hazmat
• DOT/IATA certifications a plus
• Ability to be on‑site daily

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of packing samples for shipment
• Proficiency in inventory systems and basic Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook)
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Ability to troubleshoot issues with incoming and outgoing shipments
• Working knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory compliance for sample handling
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure

• Lead and support the day‑to‑day shipping and receiving of sample materials
• Prepare, package, label, and document outbound sample shipments according to customer and regulatory requirements
• Receive, inspect, and process inbound samples, ensuring accuracy of documentation and timely data entry
• Maintain and update shipping records and logs within internal systems (WMS)
• Coordinate with internal clients to prioritize urgent or sensitive shipments
• Ensure shipping area remains clean, safe, and organized
• Train and mentor team members on shipping/receiving procedures and compliance
• Communicate with shipping carriers to resolve delays, damages, or discrepancies
• Monitor and replenish shipping supplies as needed
• Ensure adherence to all company policies, SOPs, and safety regulations related to sample logistics
• Ensure all samples are properly maintained, securely packaged, and preserved in optimal condition while awaiting scheduled shipment

The annual salary range for this position is as follows: $65,000 to $75,000 per year. Compensation for roles at Tobin varies based on factors such as office location, role responsibilities, relevant experience, education, and specific skill sets. As required by local law, Tobin provides a reasonable, good‑faith compensation range for positions hired in Massachusetts. Actual pay will reflect job‑related qualifications, geographic considerations, and other applicable factors.
