School Psychologist - Long Term Substitute Qualifications and Experience
- MDE School Psychologist Licensure required.
- Successful background check required.
- School Psychologist interns are welcome to apply.
- Experience working in K-12 Education as a School Psychologist.
- Prefer some experience working in multiple school sites.
- Assessments, problem solving, organization, teamwork.
- Behavior analysis, academic and behavior intervention skills.
- Verbal and written language skills, interpersonal skills.
Participates in planning and implementing special education assessments and re‑assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services and ensures students receiving services meet state eligibility guidelines.
Provides consultation to team members, directs student assessments, interprets findings, and writes reports.
Attends meetings involving parents, educators, county personnel, and other stakeholders.
Consults with regular and special education personnel regarding programming for students with disabilities and ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Participates in pre‑referral activities, including attending Student Assistance Team meetings, gathering and interpreting data, developing pre‑referral interventions, and assisting with intervention implementation.
Provides training and support for initiatives such as Response to Intervention (RTI), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and school‑wide data collection.
Develops and delivers training while staying current on relevant literature and research.
